Since the day he got elected as the President of USA, Donald Trump has been making headlines for many reasons. He is one of the most popular Presidents, USA has ever had. A hardcore businessman turned politician, Trump dared almost every media house in USA that touted him as an underdog, during his election run in 2016. He glorified the slogan “America First” by rallying behind the cause of employing Native Americans more in every sector than hiring foreign workers through H1B Visas and other processes.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi initiated an impeachment inquiry against Donald Trump on September 24, 2019, after a whistleblower alleged that Trump abused the power of the presidency. The allegation is that, in a bid to secure his re-election in 2020, Trump withheld both military aid and a White House meeting to coerce newly-elected President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to publicly announce investigations which would adversely impact Trump’s political rival Joe Biden in the 2020 election. Following all these developments, Democrats also have sharpened their knives against Trump and want him to be expelled immediately, though it is unlikely to see that happen now.
On December 4, 2019, a more than eight-hour hearing with four constitutional scholars, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler concluded that President Trump’s conduct with Ukraine went to the length of an impeachable offense. Democrats met with 3 of the 4 Law Professors who testified before the Judiciary Committee while the Republicans spoke with the 4th Scholar. Those 3 scholars are strongly recommending for the impeachment. The Republicans don’t seem to be in any hurry to bring down Trump and are warning against any hasty impeachment. A 300-page report that clearly states that Trump compromised on National Security to expedite his political interests is being pushed for an approval by House Intelligence Committee.
After all these quick developments, the impeachment of Trump seems to be imminent in the near future.
