Wearable Sensor Listens to the Body

A soft, wearable acoustic sensor able to both monitor the heart and recognize the spoken word could have applications in robotics and health. It can be attached to almost any area of the body, where it will continually monitor the body’s physiological data by analyzing the mechanical waves generated by the body’s natural processes. Besides tracking body health, the tiny sensor could also be used to capture voice commands, allowing the user to control games or other machines.
