Stove for cooking and Charging
Designed with an eye toward developing nations, a new cooking stove from the team at RTI reduces its smoke output via a system of self-powered fans and can also charge electronic gadgets.
Created as a solution to the health problems caused by breathing in smoke from an open fire, the stove is equipped with a thermoelectric generator that powers a built-in fan. The fan blows air in to the combustion chamber of the stove, helping build the flames and decreasing smoke output while also requiring less fuel for the same amount of heat. The same generator that provides power for the fan can also be tapped to charge small, electronic devices.
