A new entrant into the club of Daimler & Chrysler. A first of its kind self-driven semi-truck has been put to first test drive recently. It is monitored by humans while the in-built mechanism does the driving.
What makes the feature unique is, the system controls the Freightliner on highways while maintaining distance from the traffic and when a situation arises which cannot be controlled, the human who is in the truck gets alerts to take over the mantle. It he does not respond the truck shall slow down and come to a standstill. This will be an interesting creation to watch out in the near future.
