Plant-Based Plastic Wrap Keeps Food Fresher

An innovative silver and clover-infused food packaging material could offer a more effective alternative to petroleum-based products.  The food wrap is made up of cellulose composite embedded with ionic silver nanoparticles and clove essential oil. The clove binds with free radicals to help prevent oxidation, while the silver kills microorganisms and adds elasticity to the plastic. And because the wrap is derived from plant material, it will degrade completely within about two years.
