Gesture Control Earbuds

A new prototype earbud technology could allow users to control their phones with a smile.  The technology relies on an earbud outfitted with electrodes able to detect the change in ear canal’s shape when the wearer makes a different facial expression. A reference electrode is attached to the earlobe. As different expressions cause the muscles to move in a certain way, the motion will be translated to a command.
