A new color changing ink could open the door to tattoos able to monitor biometrics suchas glucose levels. Part of the Dermal Abyss project, the bio-sensitive ink interact with the interstitial fluid in the body. inks were created that will turn from green to brown to as glucose levels rise, as well as green ink that can be viewed under a blue light to determine dehydration levels. Though the ink remains proof-of-concept technology could find its way into long-lasting tattoos to monitor chronic conditions, or even invisible ink that can be viewed under special types of light.
