Coinbase raises $75 million from VC firms

Coinbase a company in the bitcoin-related startup has raised $75 million from VCs, traditional banks and even NY Stock Exchange (Source)

The company enables and helps merchants accepting bitcoin as a mode of payment. Hundreds of thousands of merchants are now accepting the digital currency, which can be carried in your cellphone app and be used to pay. A bitcoin is not directly “pegged” to a Dollar, but its value is dependent on demand and supply and its transactions are trackable.

Former Citigroup CEO Mr. Vikram Pandit is known to have personally invested in Coinbase.
