Crop Phenotyping Robot Gathers Plant Data

You can gather the data on crops simpler and more accurate with a Crop Phenotyping Robot. ┬áThe slender bot is guided down the row of crops by both GPS and manual control, where its array of sensors gathers phenotypic data on plant specifics as well as soil conditions. The semi-autonomous device is guided by a combination of GPS and a human-operated laptop, as it moves between rows of plants on its all-terrain tank-like treads. That data is stored on the robot’s own integrated computer, plus it’s transmitted to the user’s laptop. The data is stored onboard the robot as well as transmitted to a paired device, allowing to create 3D maps of each plant, estimate biomass yield, and build predictive growth patterns.
