Donotcollect list needed to support nationwide privacy like California’s CCPA

California recently passed CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act) to help consumers protect their data from companies using it for commercial purposes. Companies  like Facebook made money by collecting and selling of personal information of consumers.

It asks large companies to give control/ownership/security of data to consumers.

To make this enforceable and give consumers control, we need to have a #DONOTCOLLECT list and #DONOTSELL based on names+emails just like DONOTCALL list for unsolicited phone calls.

Also, a similar act may be needed by other states or at federal level.

BoringPortal invites response and suggestions from consumers on this topic and how to make an effective #DONOTCOLLECT and #DONOTSELL list – you may send your response on twitter @boringportal
